Climate Justice

Climate justice refers to the fair and equitable distribution of the benefits and burdens of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy. It recognizes that vulnerable communities, including low-income individuals, people of color, and indigenous peoples, are often disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change and may also face inequities in accessing resources and decision-making power related to climate action.

WejaCBO aims to address these inequities by promoting inclusive and participatory decision-making processes, ensuring that the voices and perspectives of marginalized communities are heard and valued. It also seeks to ensure that the benefits of climate action, such as transition to greener pathways, new jobs and clean energy, are shared fairly among all communities, including those historically disadvantaged. Ultimately, WejaCBO is about creating a more just and equitable society, both in terms of addressing the impacts of climate change and in transitioning to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
